Summer is for Color!

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend but don’t be afraid to add a signature colored gemstone to your jewelry look. The customers always notice my large diamond looks, but my emerald and sapphire rings garner the most compliments by far. Tanzanite, aquamarine, and blue topaz evoke the dreamy blues of Marco Island’s sleepy, lapping waves and crystal-blue skies. Designing with fine colored gemstones is the most fun because simple designs are all they need. A classic diamond halo or three-stone design keeps the center stone the main focus. Bezel-set solitaires are also a great way to add a colored stone to your repertoire. In store right now is a gorgeous little purple sapphire ring set in yellow gold that makes a great stacking ring. We recently invested in a two-carat pear-shaped emerald. The clarity on this thing is mind-blowing. I’m designing a custom bezel pendant with diamond accents that will sing in my window in a couple weeks! Don’t forget about yellow! Yellow gold is the metal color to make your sun-kissed tan pop! A large statement hoop in yellow gold adds instant glam to any outfit. A chunky yellow-gold chain in a fun paper clip or unusual link is all you need. No pendant necessary. Drape a couple in varying lengths around your neck to emphasize your décolletage. A little bronzer and out the door you go! It is the quintessential effortless Florida look. Don’t be afraid to mix metals. Icy white gold adds contrast, interest, and looks intentional. The rules of yesteryear no longer apply. We are free to do as we please and wear what makes us happy.
