Waste Deep in the Big Muddy

"And the big fool says to push on..." It is not enough that we had to put up with charges of a "Material weakness and Designated weakness" stated in our annual audit, along with a laundry list of misguided issues that arose under the last six years of our "beneficial" tax rollbacks. Now the Council has to struggle with what to do about desperate revenue needs for our fair city and how to resolve a new crisis regarding a flagrant disregard of the MARCO ISLAND CITY CHARTER by our City Manager, our Assistant City Manager, the City Attorney, and even four members of our City Council who willingly and proudly voted to support the violation of what is actually our CITY CONSTITUTION. 

We are now getting "neck deep in the Big Muddy and the Big Fool says to push on" by extending his retirement to September 30, 2026, so he can "help" us bring a new City Manager up to speed. I suppose that next we will bring former Chairman Grifoni in to educate our current city council on how to run this city "efficiently" as was previously done under his leadership. BEEJEEZUS! Wake up citizens and voters. It is we, our money, and our CHARTER that are being trifled with.
