When selecting members of the Marco Island City Council, voters should consider demonstrated experience, community service, and a record of responsible decision-making—not simply campaign promises.
For these reasons, I support Darrin Palumbo, Jason Bailey, and Chris Ricci.
Darrin Palumbo has demonstrated leadership through his service on City Council and as Council Chair. Jason Bailey has contributed substantial time to the community as Chair of the Planning Board, addressing important issues involving planning, zoning and Marco Island’s future. Chris Ricci has served the community through the Beach and Coastal Resources Advisory Committee and the Audit Advisory Committee, bringing professional experience in business, law and engineering to issues affecting our city.
Each of these candidates has demonstrated a willingness to invest time and expertise in public service. Their backgrounds also provide experience in evaluating issues, reviewing information and making decisions based on facts and data.
Marco Island faces important decisions concerning finances, infrastructure, development, environmental protection and the long-term quality of life of our community. Experience and informed decision-making will matter.
I encourage residents to vote Palumbo, Bailey and Ricci when casting their three City Council votes. Their records of community involvement provide voters with a basis for evaluating their qualifications and commitment to Marco Island.
