Supporting Jason Bailey for City Council

Marco Island is facing serious challenges - water quality, city finances, quality of life concerns, and more. These issues require experienced and thoughtful leadership. That’s why I’m supporting Jason Bailey for City Council.

Jason has called Marco home for nearly three decades, having raised his family here and built deep roots in our community. He’s spent time serving as Chair of the Planning Board, on the Ad Hoc Parking Solutions Committee, and as an engaged resident. He brings an unparalleled understanding of our City codes and our Comprehensive Plan. Even when tempers flare, Jason’s common sense and clarity of focus are able to cut through the tension and craft pragmatic solutions to tough problems.

On the Planning Board, Jason has taken bold stances--sometimes as the sole “no” vote on projects that would otherwise be rubber-stamped. Even if you don’t agree with every single vote he’s taken, no one can deny his thoughtfulness in arriving at his decisions. Nor can you ignore his attention to detail--catching buried-in-the-weeds mistakes made by applicants. In August, he flagged that a project before the Planning Board didn’t have an accurate Traffic Impact Analysis completed by the applicant. Can you imagine the embarrassment had that been allowed to proceed, absent Jason’s eagle eye?

Lastly, Jason is focused on protecting Marco’s character. And that’s not just rhetoric. For years, he’s worked to push for island-wide density audits, regular traffic counts, and corrections to our codes and Comprehensive Plan that put residents’ quality of life at the forefront.

On November 3, I hope you’ll join me in voting for Jason Bailey.
