Time to Resign

I was listening to 92.5 Fox News this morning and the host, Michael Opelka, was talking about the incident with Marco Island Councilor Tamara Goehler's ethics violation and subsequent fine. The overwhelming consensus was that the $5,000 fine for abusing and misusing her power as an elected official is nowhere near the consequence she deserves.

Goehler already admitted in writing to her own corruption. Her immediate resignation is the only appropriate resolution. She has disgraced her position and has caused a scandal that has gotten nationwide attention. This incident has embarrassed our Island, caused us to lose faith in our representatives, and exposed the entire Council to ridicule. The forced removal by Governor DeSantis or a recall is inevitable. 

This isn't about politics. It's about accountability.
