So many things to respond to in the last edition and so few words in which to do it. First, in response to Brittany Piersma on beach nourishment. The sky is not falling, and the seas are not rising tomorrow. Al Gore predicted the end of the Earth 30 years ago, and we are still doing fine. As for the rest of your article, you are spot on. MI needs another opinion of a coastal scientist because our current engineer is too invested in moving sand, and it is not necessarily the best solution. In response to Brad Shaw, it would be great if today’s left had an MLK who believed in God and nonviolencetolead your causes. Unfortunately, the left takes its marching orders from Marx and Saul Alinsky (Rules for Radicals), and there is no God, nor compromise. Finally, the article submitted by the DWCMarco provides statistics which are meaningless and insinuate the US should redistribute wealth so we can better raise the next generation. Children raised by loving, God fearing traditional family units no matter what income far excel those from broken, even rich homes. Children are not a commodity for which you bemoan the cost, but a treasure which has incalculable benefits to the family and the community. Rather than envy those who have achieved wealth through perseverance and hard work, encourage the core family, personal responsibility, integrity, civil discourse, and the love of God. Our Nation depends on a return to these values.
