Right and Just

Unfortunately, Mr. Shaw’s column again exudes Trump Derangement Syndrome. First amendment constitutional law of the United States supports “separation of church and state” for a reason. Religious and political leaders have different responsibilities and agendas to achieve world harmony. They should stay out of each other’s business. 

President Trump has been focused on ending numerous wars and brutal dictatorial regimes. For decades, the radical Iranian Regime has exported and supported unspeakable violence, murdering thousands of their own people and non-Muslim innocent people opposing their radical religious agenda. In essence, a long-term violent and unjust “WAR”. President Trump’s mission has been to protect Europe, the Middle East, and ultimately the United States from escalation of that war to a “nuclear level.” Through very precise and powerful technological weapons, he has eliminated the Iranian war machine. The obvious goal has been to humanely preserve the country’s infrastructure and establish a peaceful, economically successful Iran. 

If the radical Iranian Jihad had been carried out as planned, Catholics like myself, Christians, Jews, and yes, Pope Leo would in theory be exterminated. President Trump's rhetoric is sometimes full of hyperbole, but his policy is undeniably “peace for all through strength.” President Trump’s responsibility is not limited to the Catholic Church's doctrine. It is broadly, preserving the freedom for all faiths to coexist and worship peacefully, without oppression or political persecution.
