Proudly Endorsing Jason Bailey for City Council

Serving on the Marco Island City Council has taught me that leadership is not about simply occupying a seat. It is about having the courage to ask difficult questions, the independence to stand your ground, and the commitment to remember who put you there – the Residents.

That is why I am proud to endorse Jason Bailey for Marco Island City Council.

I support Jason because I believe he will put Marco Island residents first.

Our Island is facing important decisions about growth, development, spending, infrastructure, taxes, and preserving the character of our community. These decisions require Council members who will do their homework, listen carefully to residents, question government when necessary, and never forget that taxpayer dollars belong to the taxpayers.

As chair of the Marco Island Planning Board, Jason has an unparalleled understanding of our codes and Comprehensive Plan. He will work to preserve and strengthen them, rather than undermine them.

Jason brings common sense, integrity, and an independent voice to the table. I don’t expect Jason and me to agree on every issue and that is exactly how good government should work. I want colleagues who will think for themselves, respectfully debate the issues, and make decisions based on what they believe is best for Marco Island.

This community does not need more division or negativity. We need people willing to work together while remaining accountable to the residents we serve.

I believe Jason Bailey is that kind of leader.

Jason has earned my confidence, my support, and my endorsement. I encourage the residents of Marco Island to give him their consideration and their vote for Marco Island City Council.
