Choose Experienced Leaders for Council

I would like to submit a letter to the editor for your consideration.

As Marco Island voters prepare to elect our next City Council, I'd like to encourage everyone to take a close look at three candidates who I believe have the experience and leadership our city needs at this time.

I believe that Darrin Palumbo has earned another term through his collaborative leadership and “can-do” attitude as Council Chair. His financial expertise, business background, and commitment to our community have helped move important initiatives forward.

Jason Bailey brings strong business experience and a proven record of public service as Planning Board Chair. He understands the city's zoning and development issues and approaches problems with common sense and sound judgment. His experience is needed on council.

Chris Ricci offers an impressive combination of executive leadership and public service. His work on the Beach and Coastal Resources Committee and the Audit Advisory Committee has given him valuable experience in both environmental stewardship and fiscal oversight. With a background in law and engineering, he has the right skills for the job.

Marco Island deserves leaders who are prepared to make thoughtful, informed decisions from day one. I believe Darrin Palumbo, Jason Bailey, and Chris Ricci are the best choice, and I encourage my fellow residents to support them on Election Day.
