The selection of members to the Marco Island City Council is among the most consequential decisions voters make, as those elected are entrusted with safeguarding the City's fiscal integrity, protecting and preserving the quality of life.
After reviewing the qualifications and record of service of the candidates, I believe Ricci, Palumbo, and Bailey have demonstrated the experience, judgment, and commitment necessary to effectively discharge the responsibilities of public office.
Chris Ricci has established a distinguished record of public service through his leadership of the Beach and Coastal Resources Committee and his membership on the City's Audit Advisory Committee. His professional background and extensive committee experience have equipped him to address the legal, financial, and environmental issues confronting our community.
As current Council Chair, Darrin Palumbo has consistently exhibited sound leadership, fiscal responsibility, and an ability to build consensus while advancing the City's priorities. He deserves to be re-elected to council.
Jason Bailey's service as Chair of the Planning Board has provided him with substantial experience in land-use planning, zoning, and development matters. His thoughtful, analytical approach to complex issues reflects a commitment to objective, well-reasoned decision-making.
Public confidence in local government is best served by electing individuals whose qualifications are demonstrated through sustained service. Chris Ricci, Darrin Palumbo, and Jason Bailey have established that record and have earned the confidence of the voters they seek to represent.
