Walk Your Westie

The first annual Marco Westie Walk will be held at Mackle Park on Friday, March 20, at 8:30 AM. This is an annual event held in many cities across the U.S. and Canada to celebrate West Highland Terriers on National Westie Day. These Scottish dogs are very smart, so giving them a special day is just what they deserve. They were originally bred to hunt small rodents but became so beloved that families brought them into the house for pets. Edward Donald Malcolm, 16th Laird of Poltalloch, is credited with creating the modern breed.

The Westie Walk will have West Highland Terrier pawparents meet and walk their dogs to the sounds of Scottish bagpipes. It’s a great way to get in your pup’s exercise while enjoying some true highland music! So come to Mackle Park on Friday, March 20 at 8:30 AM and celebrate these cute, inquisitive balls of fur.
