Arts Center Theatre Kicks Off New Season

Arts Center Theatre launches its 2026-2027 season with “Packing Up Polly”, a hilarious Southern comedy by Leslie Kimbell, playwright of Four Old Broads and Miss Magnolia Senior Citizen Beauty Pageant. Directed by Hyla Crane, the production runs November 5-22, 2026, starring Jean Rowles, Cynthia Sepich, Betsy Greenblatt and Carolyn Davis.

When Polly Porter, a famous 1970s gospel singer, passes away, her daughter, Caroline (Jean Rowles), returns to Savannah, Georgia, to clean out her mother’s house. There’s just one problem: Polly was a hoarder of epic proportions, her siblings are missing in action, and three of Caroline’s former high school cheerleading friends have shown up unannounced.

Enter Lizzy (Cynthia Sepich), who runs the Miss Georgia Belle Pageantry system; Donna Jo (Betsy Greenblatt), a community theater diva; and Becca (Carolyn Davis), who is expecting her fifth daughter in a late-in-life pregnancy. What could possibly go wrong?

With gospel music blaring, margaritas flowing and decades of friendship fueling the chaos, the four women tackle mountains of clutter, revisit old rivalries and share plenty of laughs along the way. Between the outrageous situations and larger-than-life personalities, Packing Up Polly delivers a rollicking comedy about friendship, family and the messes life leaves behind.

Arts Center Theatre is located at Marco Town Center, 1089 N. Collier Blvd., Marco Island, next to Marco Brewery. Look for the Red Door.
