The United Church of Marco Island has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Marco Island Academy (MIA) Girls Soccer Team, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local youth and educational initiatives.

On Sunday, January 18, Kevin Ray, Dean of Students and Women’s Soccer Coach, accepted the grant on behalf of the academy. The funding was made possible through proceeds from the church’s thrift store, the Bargain Basket.

“We are proud to support community organizations through our grant program,” said Michelle Hennessy, Chair of the Mission Committee. “This contribution reflects the collective generosity of our community and strengthens programs that positively impact young people.”

The United Church of Marco Island regularly invests in local outreach and community partnerships, with the Bargain Basket playing a key role in extending the church’s mission.
