The Marco Island Academy volleyball team is off to a good start, blanking their first two opponents at home. But things could get a bit more interesting with a match against Westminster Academy scheduled for Saturday. Westminster Academy advanced to the regional finals last season, losing to First Baptist Academy in four sets.
On Monday, August 18, the Rays won their home opener with ease, 25-4, 25-6, 25-11 over conference foe Donahue Catholic. On Wednesday, August 20, the Rays took another easy one against Bonita Springs, 25-11, 25-10, 25-7.
The Rays will stay on the road on Tuesday, September 2, when they take on unbeaten Oasis. The Rays return home Thursday, September 4 when they host Canterbury at 6:00 PM.
