MDR Your Brain Health Matters Free Memory Screen Event

Posted

MDR-Your Brain Health Matters will host a FREE Community Memory Screening event on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at United Church of Marco Island from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Registered participants will receive confidential cognitive screening conducted by trained professionals, with the goal of generating a baseline measure of memory function, education, and proactive next steps. The establishment of a baseline measure of memory function empowers individuals with knowledge, clarity, and direction. Registered participants will receive screening results along with guidance on next steps, lifestyle interventions, and available resources.

“Brain health is not something we begin thinking about after symptoms appear — it is something we nurture across the lifespan,” said Dr. Paul Nussbaum, Chair of the MDR Champagne Center for Brain Health and Director of Memory Assessment Center for MDR Your Brain Health Matters. Establishing a baseline measure of memory function gives individuals a powerful starting point for proactive cognitive wellness,” added Nussbaum, a renowned neuropsychologist. He will also provide consultation and insights on the results to the registered participants.

Annual Brain Health Gala

The MDR Your Brain Health Matters Free Memory Screening Event will be preceded by its annual Brain Health Gala slated for Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the Island Country Club on Marco Island, Florida. The popular event, which was sold out by the middle of February, brings together community leaders, supporters, medical professionals, and families committed to advancing proactive brain health education. Guests will enjoy an elegant evening of dining, fellowship and purpose, all in support of MDR’s mission to help individuals and families navigate cognitive change with dignity and hope. The event will highlight the organization’s expanding programming and its evolution into a comprehensive brain health resource serving Marco Island and its surrounding communities.

“This year’s gala represents more than a celebration, it reflects the extraordinary generosity of a community that understands the importance of brain health at every stage of life,” said Tim Rose, Board Chair of MDR Your Brain Health Matters, noting MDR’s gratitude for the community’s rapid response to attend the 2026 gala. “We are building something meaningful and sustainable for our families, and we are appreciative for the support the community is showing to make it possible.”

MDR’s Future-The Champagne Center for Brain Health

These events in March come at an exciting time for MDR Your Brain Health Matters as the organization prepares to move into its new facility, the Champagne Center for Brain Health, targeted to open this spring. The Center will be located adjacent to the new NCH Urgent Care on Marco Island at the intersection of San Marco Road and South Heathwood Drive. The Center will be housed within the original NCH Urgent Care, just feet away from the new NCH facility. The Center will serve as a hub for education, prevention, screening, and brain health programming, expanding MDR’s impact and providing a welcoming space dedicated to lifelong cognitive wellness. More details regarding the grand opening will be announced in the future.
