Mardi Gras Island Celebration

Posted

More than 50 Marco Crews Club members gathered together for an awesome night to celebrate Mardi Gras. Guests arrived dressed for the festivities in traditional colorful attire of purple, green, gold, and lots of beaded necklaces.

A big thank you goes to our host Jolanta Morys, who is herself a superb chef, and prepared all the main dishes for the banquet, which included a New Orleans Creole gumbo, hunter stew, stuffed cabbage, pierogi, beef stroganoff, "Marry Me" salmon, Tuscan chicken, and Gordon Ramsey fresh shrimp rolls. In addition, there were starters, salads, and lots of sweet desserts. A real feast for the eyes. She had a lot of help, too, from members Kelly Blum, Lisa Leblebicioglu, Karla Patenaude, and Joyce Madaio, who arrived early in the morning to put it all together.

After dinner, there were games and special prizes awarded. Teams were formed, and the friendly competitions began. There was a mummy creation, Mardi Gras necklace throw, a blind fold, riddles, and a Family Feud. This got everyone off their feet and eager to win. A bit of good-natured rivalry like this is always a lot of fun with this group. It was a wonderful way to start the upcoming season.
