Marco Island Academy’s chapter of the Quill & Scroll International Honor Society is proud to announce its upcoming St. Baldrick's charity event, aimed at raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer research. This event will be held in the school’s gymnasium on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM.
St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer and donor powered charity committed to supporting the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and support survivors. Participants in the event will shave their heads in solidarity with children who have lost their hair during cancer treatment, while raising money to support this important cause.
"We are thrilled to host this event and contribute to the fight against childhood cancer," said MIA Principal Melissa Scott. "It is important that our students, staff, and community come together to make a meaningful impact."
The event will be held during a pep rally, including live music, games, and other events. Local businesses and student volunteers have generously offered their support to ensure the event's success, and community members are invited to donate to help reach the fundraising goal of $2,025.00.
