It was a picture-perfect day for the Marco Cruise Club's second annual Beach Day cookout on White Horse Key. There were no fewer than 20 boats and 64 members including families and guests. Commodore Tom Stam was asked to arrive early to assist in providing an orderly and safe anchorage for the members and boats upon arriving. With his signature megaphone in hand, his mission was accomplished. Members’ boats were secured, chairs and coolers unloaded, and tents set up. Everyone was happy.
Meanwhile, event hosts Terry and Rosie Pasch were busy setting up grills, community tents, and tables. A portable sound system was set up for music. A balloon toss, corn hole toss, and third game were also set up for a full day of fun. And with a little help from some friends, they were ready for the party.
Hamburgers were grilled to perfection. Hot dogs, rolls, and an abundant choice of sides and desserts supplied by MCC members were the fare for the day.
The food was delicious. The music was great and the games were fun. The beach was hot, the water was cool, and the dolphins were all around. It was a wonderful day on White Horse Key. At the end, everyone pitched in to clean up, leaving no trace behind. Thus demonstrating once again their commitment to being stewards of the land as well as promoting safety on the sea, which is a big part of the Club's objectives.
