Over 12 months ago, a couple entered our art gallery, taking time to appreciate the various works of art. After a brief departure, they returned, and I expected to discuss a sale. However, they surprised me by asking if Betty Newman Art Gallery would be interested in collaborating on an exhibit at Rookery Bay. As a gallery featuring local talent, we pride ourselves on being a hidden gem and sought after destination. Rookery Bay frequently hosts art exhibitions, and I was thrilled to be approached. After a year of negotiations, a date was set, I, along with artists Judy Chinksi, Barbi Dalton, Sandra Esham, Ulrike Kerner, Joe Parisi, and Jim Robellard, are now on display at the Rookery Bay Educational Center, 300 Tower Road, Naples, through January 31.
Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is responsible for managing wildlife and habitat within 110,000 acres from downtown Naples east through the Western Everglades. That encompasses 40% of Collier County’s coastline! You can also come to the Betty Newman Art Gallery on Marco Island, 258 Royal Palm, second floor, where there are three rooms of very talented artists. We have a wealth of various gift items, and our artists do a lot of commissions. We’re more than happy to bring things to your home.
Be sure to check out our exhibit at Rookery Bay through January 31!
