Knights of Columbus Partner with Community Pregnancy Center

Posted

Over 23,000 babies have been saved during the past 50 years as a result of the incredible and caring work by the Community Pregnancy Center (CPCI). This clearly highlights the dedication, hard work, and success of this organization. The Knights of Columbus are so proud to partner with this outstanding organization which “makes hope possible” for women.

Scott Baier, who has been the CEO of CPCI since late 2020, is passionate about the organization and its work in helping expectant mothers. He has both an eclectic and perfect background, having been in the military, the seminary, and 20+ years in Catholic education serving as both a teacher and more recently, an administrator. He expresses that the need for services is greater than ever and that CPCI helps to support women Free of Charge to choose life. Their organization delivers critical services in 5 specific ways:

  • Pregnancy Testing (over 2,100 in 2023) – to confirm if a woman is pregnant

  • Ultrasound Testing(over 1,900 in 2023)– to further confirm pregnancy and health of baby

  • STI Testing (over 1,000 in 2023)–to assist women regarding STI’s

  • Support(over 2,400 in 2023) – to provide counseling, emotional, and financial support to women before, during, and after pregnancy

  • Gifted Necessities Program (over 7,600 in 2023) – to provide free baby items to moms making a choice for life (diapers, clothing, gift cards)

CPCI does all of this through its five clinics, 2 mobile support units, robust digital outreach, 40 staff members (including full medical staff), and over 50 volunteers. The geographic focus of CPCI’s work is in Florida, primarily on the west coast of the state. As we all know, our cell phones and computers are the first thing we reach for when we gather information. This is why CPCI’s digital footprint supports women anywhere. All they have to do is search on Google or at CommunityPregnancyClinic.com to learn about their options, schedule an appointment and about the help they can receive from CPCI.

The Knights of Columbus not only provides financial support through its’ fundraising events, they also offer intellectual expertise. Jeff Kaczka, a brother Knight, has served on the CPCI board of directors for 8 years, including Treasurer for 7 years. Jeff says “he’s honored to serve this Faith-based organization because they provide incredibly compassionate care to mothers and their babies. “Thanks to our generous donors, we’ve been able to expand our free services across the state of Florida and actually help save thousands of lives.”

One of the best ways CPCI is helping today’s young people in this area is through prevention education using its Sexual Health and Relationship Education (S.H.A.R.E) Program. They have partnered with college students to speak to high school students about sexual integrity. So far, they have reached over 12,000 young adults.

Mr. Baier explained that today’s greater needs require a greater response and “that doing nothing is not an option.” There are 3 ways in which you can help women and CPCI:

  • Volunteer – Go to volunteerservices@community4life.com or email info@community4life.com. Volunteer opportunities range from working in the Boutiques for the Gifted Necessities Program to working on “The pit crew” for their mobile units just to name a few.

  • Financially–Go to www.supportcpci.com.Be confident that every dollar goes to helping mothers choose LIFE!

  • Prayer for Babies – This is a simple but powerful way for everyone to help, simply….

and receive updates from nurses when extra prayers are needed for individual clients.

The Knights of Columbus, 240 members strong, work diligently in helping charities on and around Marco Island.
