Kathleen Rose Rapp, 88, of Marco Island, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026.
Kathleen was born in Queens, New York, and raised in the Bronx. In 1967, she left the Bronx for Setauket, Long Island, before settling in Miller Place in 1972, where she poured her heart into raising her family. While still living on Long Island, once her children were grown, Kathleen went back to school at Stony Brook University and became an emergency room nurse — a career she loved and approached with tireless compassion. After moving to Marco Island in 1997, she went on to become a founding member of the Neighborhood Health Clinic in Naples, Florida, a nonprofit providing free medical care to low-income, uninsured working adults in Collier County, and continued lending her time and care there well into her 80s.
Kathleen cherished her life on Marco Island and the wonderful friends she made along the way. She was an original member of the "Pool Bawd" and served on the Board of Directors of Princess Del Mar on Marco Island, always ready to give her time to the community she loved. Whether at the mahjong table, playing cards, or out on the tennis court, Kathleen brought warmth, energy, and joy to everyone around her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert, and her daughter, Donna. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Robert, Thomas, and John; her grandchildren, Matthew and James; her sister, Gail Hibson Lawton; and her brother, Patrick Hibson.
A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held on September 26 at 11:00 AM in the Social Room at Princess Del Mar. A burial will take place on Long Island in the near future, where she will be laid to rest with her parents, her husband, and her daughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Neighborhood Health Clinic, 88 12th Street North, Suite 100, Naples, Florida 34102, in Kathleen's memory.
