Henry Guzman Jr., 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Born on December 8, 1944, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Henry moved to the United States as a young boy and was raised in Manhattan, New York. He graduated from George Washington High School, where he enjoyed singing with the Operetta Workshop and where he met a dancer, his future wife, Rosalyn, as they performed in the George Washington High School Spring Festival. The two were married in 1965 and shared 61 years of marriage, building a life centered on hard work and family.
Henry continued his education by earning an associate’s degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey and started his career on Wall Street working for Emanuel Deetjen and Company. He made a career move to the fashion industry as an Operations Manager for the British clothing company Jaeger Sportswear, where he worked for 20 years. Later, he pursued a new passion by obtaining his New Jersey Real Estate License, working first with ERA Designs for Living and later with Coldwell Banker Team Success in Old Bridge, New Jersey, where his wife Rosalyn was the Broker/Co-Owner.
Henry and Rosalyn made their home in Sayreville, New Jersey, where they lived and raised their family for many years before relocating to Naples, Florida, in 2018 to enjoy retirement. Henry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid gardener and hobbyist landscaper who took great pride in creating beautiful outdoor spaces. He appreciated authentic Mexican cuisine and cherished every opportunity to gather with his family. Quiet by nature, Henry was a thoughtful man who shared his opinions sparingly, often accompanied by a dry and sometimes irreverent sense of humor that was especially appreciated by those closest to him.
Above all, Henry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His steadfast love, gentle presence, unwavering work ethic, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Rosalyn Guzman; his daughter, Roxanne Gorton; his son, Henry Guzman III, and daughter-in-law, Lyndsay Guzman; his cherished grandchildren, Aivah Guzman and Henry Guzman IV; and his sisters, Evangeline and Martha. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Joe Guzman.
Henry's legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, humility, and quiet generosity. He will be remembered with love, gratitude, and affection always.
