Food Insecurity Fund Gives Grant to Our Daily Bread Food Pantry

Our Daily Bread Food Pantry (ODBFP) announced it is the recipient of a $30,000 grant from the Food Insecurity Fund of the Collier Community Foundation (CCF) to help feed hungry children and families in Collier County. This grant represents a portion of the overall $70,000 investment made by CCF this year alone to provide FOOD – ENCOURAGEMENT – HOPE to our neighbors in need.

“We are deeply grateful to the members of the CCF-Food Insecurity Fund for their leadership support of our mission and commitment to alleviating hunger in our community. As food prices continue to escalate, the workforce families who provide the essential services that propel our economy too often face the agonizing choice between feeding their children or having the resources to pay bills or remain housed,” states ODBFP Executive Director, Evelyn Rossetti-Ryan, EdD.

This year, ODBFP will provide an estimated 1,666,667 meals through the distribution of 2+ million pounds of nutritious food proportioned to meet USDA dietary guidelines to feed hungry children, families and seniors. Thanks to the generous investments made by grant funders like the Collier Community Foundation and the hard work contributed by our volunteer-driven Operations team, ODBFP was able to use 97 cents of every dollar raised on programs directly feeding the hungry last year.
