Adele the Three-Legged Dog

The Coastal Breeze News cover photo on December 11th featured one amazing pup – Adele. Hard to notice, but Adele is a tripod – a three-legged dog. Here is her story.
Adele was born eight years ago in Minnesota. Her humans owned a champion female dog named Ellie, who gave birth to 11 puppies. They kept one of the pups and named her Adele.
As Adele grew, shealso had puppies. Her humans kept one and named her Britta. Now there were three.
Time goes by, and mamma pup Ellie crossed over the rainbow bridge.Sadly, shortly thereafter, Adele was struck by a train and lost her front left leg.
The family worked with Adele and Britta and agreed that when they all returned to Marco, they would take Adele down the red carpet once again. She was strong and loved to hunt. Her humans built her a sleigh and taught her how to pull it. They practiced in the early morning, pulling the sleigh up and down the sidewalk. They were ready.
When Adele and Dan stepped foot on the red carpet pulling the sleigh, the crowd erupted with applause as they moved forward. When the crowd heard the story about how she lost her leg, they erupted into a second round of applause.
So, this story is over for now. But it will end with the hope that you will always believe in the magic of Christmas and that dreams can come true, especially at Christmas.
Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!
