ACS Announces 2026 Imagination Ball

Imagine a world without cancer. The Marco Island unit of the American Cancer Society cordially invites you to the 2026 American Cancer Society Imagination Ball, presented by Mr. Robert Flugger. The JW Marriott Marco Island is the place to be Friday, February 6, 2026, for a night of golden pearlescence. This black-tie optional event will raise funds in the mission to end cancer, as we know it, for everyone. That means every cancer, every life. 

This year’s gala is chaired by Debra Shanahan, who has led the event with dedication for the past thirteen years. Joining her as Co-Chairs are Rick and Lisa Popoff, owners of Rick’s Island Salon and longtime supporters of ACS. Rick, recognized by ACS as an Impact Maker for his outstanding service, is also a Past President of the ACS Marco Island Volunteer Leadership Board and has played a key role in ACS signature events, including Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Paint the Town Pink. For the Popoff family, ACS is a family affair. Rick, Lisa, their daughters Sasha, Krista, and Nikki, and sons-in-law Tim and Jarrett Stinchcombhave brought their energy and charm to the Imagination Ball for many years. This year they look forward to working alongside Debra, the ACS Imagination Ball Executive Committee, and Sue Olszak, ACS Senior Development Manager II, planning another memorable event. The gala will feature a cocktail hour, gourmet dinner, both live and silent auctions, and entertainment.  

Since 1946, ACS has supported research that has made important advances in prevention, early detection, treatment, and patient care. Our dedication to this cause will continue until cancer has been eliminated from our world. We strive to improve the lives of those who are currently fighting cancer and the lives of their families as well. We do this through advocacy, research, and patient support. Our goal is to ensure that everyone can prevent, detect, treat, and survive this deadly disease.Please join us onFebruary 6, 2026,to finish the fight once and for all!
