A Sip and Shop Holiday Event

Posted

On Thursday afternoon, December 11th, the courtyard at the Royal Palm Professional building was transformed into a one-stop shop for holiday goodies, thanks to Sharon McLaughlin, who invited several local shop owners to come and show off their products that are perfect for the holiday season. Pretty soon, the courtyard was filled with family and friends catching up, sipping, and shopping.

Curated Crab had several table displays of artisan jewelry, purses, and comfortable and sophisticated clothing.

Nan’s Print and Press had kids and adult custom shirts, stainless steel tumblers, and adult aprons – all perfect for stocking stuffers!

One Drop Book shared a table with Nan’s Print and Press and had a stack of the children's book written by Kaitlin McCann Sikes. “One Drop” is about the journey of one drop of water. Kaitlin is the daughter of Ruth McCann and attended Tommie Barfield Elementary School. She always wanted to be a writer with a passion for the environment. She is a mother and while working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Sikes went back to her Marco Island roots. “One Drop” is the result and available at the MICA Office or on Amazon. One customer took home three books for the grandchildren!

Beach Daisy from the Marco Walk Plaza had a table of jewelry accessories and casual tops.

Marco’s Pickleball & Athleisure Wear had everything pickleball at their table: paddle covers, visors, grip wraps, and more to help elevate your game.

Dolce Mare’s table suggested that you “Give the Gift of Chocolate” and was very popular all evening!

Shell Art by Sonya showcased delicate and intricate shell/oyster/orchid napkin rings, Touchtone Jewelry had unique handcrafted jewelry made from natural stones and fine metals, and Bella Grace Health and Wellness had a table introducing their own skin care and wellness products.

S McLaughlin Unique Gifts had two tables with an assortment of her unique products, like repurposed designer bags, suede hats, t-shirts, pillows, totes, and her iconic tea towels and aprons. McLaughlin started her unique gifts 14 years ago in Marco by photographing familiar places on the Island and sending them to a couple of artists who would sketch the images from the photograph. According to Sharon, the process takes four months from start to finish. Her first Marco tea towel was Crescent Beach. She then added Naples and many other American cities to her collection and through the 14 years, has done over 20 towels for Marco Island. The tea towels are popular hostess or housewarming gifts and are even ideal for framing. The towels can also be easily made into beautiful aprons.
