Two Paws Up for Gypsy

Posted

The 14th annual “Pawdy” was held last Sunday at Island Gypsy on Isles of Capri.

The event began as a birthday celebration for Gypsy, a beautiful Mastiff owned by Mike and Gail Cochran. Soon, the Cochrans combined Gypsy’s birthday party with a fundraiser for the Naples Humane Society, a no-kill shelter—and the event has become a tremendous success.

GiGi has since taken over the reins and brought the fundraising effort to the next level, as demonstrated by the enormous amount of donated pet supplies and dog food. Through the efforts of the Cochrans, Island Gypsy, and everyone who participates, thousands upon thousands of pounds of pet food have been donated to the Humane Society.

Party attendees enjoyed pulled-pork sliders, coconut shrimp, draft beer, wine and more. A 50/50 raffle and several silent-auction items were also up for grabs.

The Naples Humane Society brought puppies for guests to pet and cuddle, while THAT Girl Bakehouse provided a dog-approved birthday cake and treats. The bakery creates custom baked goods for all kinds of unique gatherings.

See you next year!
