United Church of Marco Island continues its commitment to supporting education and children in the community by presenting a $4,600 check to Tommie Barfield Elementary School to support reading and literacy initiatives.
The presentation took place during worship, where Michelle Hennessy, Chair of the United Church Mission Committee, presented the gift to Molly Skudnig, Literacy Coach at Tommie Barfield Elementary School, along with her children Lucy and Jane, and to Amanda Kubin, Principal of Tommie Barfield Elementary School.
The donation reflects United Church’s ongoing investment in meaningful causes on Marco Island and throughout Collier County, particularly those that support children and families.
“Making a difference in the lives of children and doing our best to give children a great start in their education means a lot to families and students,” said Ed Brandt, Pastor of United Church of Marco Island. “We are grateful for the work being done at Tommie Barfield Elementary and are honored to partner in supporting literacy and learning.”
United Church of Marco Island is located at 320 N. Barfield Drive, Marco Island, Florida. Worship services are held Sundays at 8:30 and 10:00 AM.
