More than birdies and eagles are at stake when the 51st annual San Marco Knights of Columbus (Knights) Charity Golf Tournament convenes on Saturday, May 9, at the Island Country Club.

Throughout their history, the Knights have contributed millions of dollars to charitable causes, including money raised from their annual golf tournament.

This year, 120 golfers are anticipated to take part in the shotgun start at 1:30 PM. Funds raised from the tournament, along with the many other fundraising programs like Bingo, Fish Fries, Concerts, Tootsie Roll drives, etc., support a variety of organizations on Marco Island and in Collier County.

Recent beneficiaries include Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, St. Vincent de Paul, Knights of Columbus scholarships, Marco Dementia Respite, Habitat for Humanity, Warrior Homes, Community Pregnancy Centers, Honor Flights to Washington DC, and the Catholic Faith Appeal, to name a few.

Prizes at this year’s tournament will go to the first and second-place teams, along with the Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Beat the Pro, and Longest Putt. Additionally, each player will receive a gift card for $100 good at any of the Phelan Restaurant Group locations on or off Marco Island.

Registration costs $250 per golfer and includes a gift bag, the gift card, pre-tournament lunch, greens fees, and cart. You can sign up by emailing the Knights' Financial Secretary, Steve Layng, at slayng@gmail.com.
