Our Daily Bread Food Pantry celebrates its 10th anniversary this year - a decade of providing food, encouragement, and hope to neighbors in need. The pantry opened its doors in 2016 as a mission of the Family Church, inspired by five founders who were moved to act after learning that local children were coming to school hungry. In its first year, the pantry served 320 households.
Today, it supports thousands of Collier County households and students, with childhood food insecurity remaining at the heart of its mission. In 2025 alone, Our Daily Bread Food Pantry distributed approximately two million pounds of food to the community.
“Our volunteers are the heart of our pantry,” shared Evelyn Rossetti-Ryan, EdD, Executive Director. “For ten years, they have served our neighbors in need with kindness and compassion, providing encouragement and hope as well as nourishing food. We are grateful to our volunteers, our community partners, and everyone who has invested in us to ensure that no neighbor goes hungry."
Looking back, founding member Liz Pecora shared, “When the pantry began ten years ago, I never would have dreamed it would become all it is today. To God be the glory! He’s provided Our Daily Bread Food Pantry with the most amazing group of dedicated volunteers and supporters. “Hunger Heroes” who week after week, year after year, give their time, talent, and treasure to care for others! Their love and sacrifice are the reason we are what you see today. I feel incredibly blessed to have been part of this journey from the beginning, and I look forward with gratitude and hope to the next ten years!”
