Marco Rotary Noontime Celebrates Students of the Month

At its Thursday, April 16 meeting, the Rotary Club of Marco Island Noontime honored the “Students of the Month” from five local area schools.

The luncheon honored two students each from Lely High School, Marco Island Academy, Manatee Middle School, Marco Island Charter Middle School, and Tommy Barfield Elementary.

Each school representative introduced their outstanding students, following which the kids gave a short, impressive talk to the audience, telling Rotarians about themselves and their life and scholastic experiences.

Rotarians came away hugely impressed with the talent, character, and achievements of each student honored today.

The program and Introductions were made by Rotary’s John Riley, Director of Development for YMCA of Collier County. The honorees were joined by family, friends, and the following educators:

• Principal Margot Heidenreich and Ms. Kendall Jacobs from Marco Island Charter Middle School.
• Ms. Elizabeth Brewer from Lely High School.
• Principal Amanda Kubin and Ms. Elizabeth Kerens from Tommie Barfield Elementary.
• Principal Melissa Scott from Marco Island Academy.
• Ms. Elizabeth Garcia from Manatee Middle School.
