Marco Resident Praises John and Carol Walter Nature Experience

“I have significant respect for John Walter; he was the chairman of the Conservancy Board when I was invited to join the board in 2023,” said Nanette Rivera, Marco resident and Conservancy of SW Florida board member.  

“John and Carol are the heads of a very generous family foundation that has made transformational gifts before in the Chicago area, seeking a cure for bladder cancer,” said Rivera. “Now, The John and Carol Walter Family Foundation has turned its generosity to the Southwest Florida community, so we can experience and increase our knowledge on how to preserve the Western Everglades (the water, land, and wildlife)!It will give both residents and visitors of any age, with or without limitations, an ability to experience this National Treasure, the Everglades ecosystem, and its unique beauty. This transformational gift is focused on educating us on how to preserve our current quality of life now and forever.”
