Grief can be especially difficult during the holiday season, and no one should have to walk through it alone. Marco Presbyterian Church is inviting anyone in the community who is experiencing loss to attend two free GriefShare events this November, offering encouragement, understanding, and support for those navigating their grief journey.
The first event, “Loss of a Spouse,” will be held on Wednesday, November 11, from 10:00 AM to Noon. Losing a spouse can bring a unique and overwhelming kind of grief, and this special GriefShare event is designed to provide support and practical encouragement for those who are walking through that loss.
The second event, “Surviving the Holidays,” will take place on Wednesday, November 18, from 10:00 AM to Noon. The holidays can be particularly challenging after the death of someone we love. This event offers a safe and supportive environment to help participants navigate the emotions, traditions, and challenges that often accompany the holiday season after a loss.
Both events will be held in Fellowship Hall, Room F1, at Marco Presbyterian Church, 875 W. Elkcam Circle, Marco Island. For more information or to register for an event, call the church office at (239) 394-8186.
The events are free and open to everyone, regardless of church affiliation or religious background. Participants do not need to be members of Marco Presbyterian Church to attend.
“Grief can sometimes feel very isolating, especially when the holidays bring memories and emotions to the surface,” said a representative of Marco Presbyterian Church. “These GriefShare events are an opportunity for people to come together, find encouragement, and know that they do not have to walk through this season alone.”
Whether someone has recently experienced a loss or has been carrying grief for some time, these gatherings are intended to provide a place of compassion, understanding, and hope.
