Marco Lutheran Church Foundation has awarded $30,000 to Our Daily Bread Food Pantry (ODBFP) to support their life-changing efforts to help their neighbors in need stay healthy and hopeful in the face of food insecurity.
“Last year, ODBFP provided over two million pounds of nutritious food proportioned to meet USDA dietary guidelines (an estimated 1,662,267 meals) to help food-insecure children and families throughout Marco Island and southeast Collier County. This would not have been possible without the leadership and members of Marco Lutheran Church and their commitment to serving the community,” shared Evelyn Rossetti-Ryan, Ed.D, Executive Director. “This investment will be used specifically to provide two days of kid-friendly meals to include in our Weekend Bags for the 230 students we serve weekly at Manatee Elementary School to ensure they have access to healthy food when they are not in school.”
“Ever since my arrival in July, I’ve seen firsthand the compassion, dedication, and tangible impact Our Daily Bread Food Pantry has made in our Community,” said Pastor Thelen. “Their mission aligns beautifully with our calling to love and serve our neighbors, and we are honored to walk alongside them. Marco Lutheran is looking forward to a continued partnership with Our Daily Bread Food as we meet needs in our community."
