At the April meeting of the Italian American Society, members were asked to bring a donation of sneakers for the nonprofit Laces of Love, whose mission is to provide new shoes to low-income and disadvantaged children of Collier and Lee County. IAS member Joyce Im brog no spearheads this donation twice a year, and she says this time she received 80 pairs of sneakers along with a few checks.
