“I have been making art seriously since I was 18 years old after I discovered an artist named Feng Zhu, which has sent me down a wild journey of which I have dedicated my life to becoming the most capable creative possible,” said Matt Fazio, a 26-year-old artist from Marco Island whose exhibit “Hue Fusion” is currently at the Art Center.
Hue Fusion is Fazio’s first endeavor showing his work as an open showcase, and he is very happy to be able to represent Marco Island's artistic presence. Fazio said that he has between 20 and 30 sketchbooks filled out and has made thousands of drawings and paintings. At the La Petite Galerie, Fazio is excited to present a curated selection of his favorite pieces over the years, alongside a year-long project specifically crafted for this exhibition.
Hue Fusion is based on a reflection of places Fazio has visited and random moments from the past year, organized into vast amounts of hues, emotions, and narratives. “I hope that my work inspires you to take a moment to pay attention to the details, not only in the art but in everyday life. A beautiful sunset to the mundaneness of a white wall can be experienced and interpreted in an infinite amount of ways,” Fazio said. The Hue Fusion Exhibit will be at the La Petite Galerie until July 1, 2025.
Through July 1, 2025, the Miami to Marco Collaboration of 15 contemporary artists from the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas (MoCAA) is at the Rush and Lauritzen Galleries as part of the county-wide ¡ARTE VIVA! Initiative. The collection is curated under MoCAA’s acclaimed art tour and highlights influential and emerging voices from across Latin America and the Caribbean.
