Gulfshore Opera Free Concert

Gulfshore Opera announces a “dream come true” free public concert tour thanks to the generous support of the Collier Community Foundation and the Cape Coral Community Foundation. General Director, Steffanie Pearce has long wished to offer a band shell tour, free to the public, but needed sponsors to cover the cost of professional artists and technical crew. With Collier Community Foundation sponsoring a performance at Marco Island’s Veteran’s Park bandshell and Cambier Park and the Cape Coral Community Foundation sponsoring a performance at Babcock Range bandstand, the dream became a reality. Journey through the Americas concert brings together the vibrant musical traditions of North and South America in a casual, lively concert featuring the women’s vocal ensemble, GO Divas and the Cuban Jazz trio and vocalists for Latin Infusion. Rich vocal harmonies and cool Latin jazz combo accompaniments give fresh appeal to popular songs by icons like Bob Dylan and James Taylor, and unique arrangements of traditional songs, like Guantanamera and Oye como va, celebrating the rich heritage of both continents in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. By offering this free Bandshell Concert tour in May, GO achieves a core mission goal of Community Engagement–giving back to the community. Gulfshore Opera produces a wide array of vocal music experiences from classical opera stylings to Latin and contemporary “pop” concerts, engaging young and old alike, providing an inclusive and friendly experience for all.
