Get Ready for Some Ribs

Barbecue Lovers – mark your calendars now for the Marco Island Police Foundation’s annual Rib Cook-Off on April 12th at the Marco Island Brewery. From Noon to 5:00 PM, teams will be putting their best grill forward in hopes of being named the best BBQ ribs in town. Judging begins at 3:00 PM, and the raffle drawing is at 4:00 PM. There’s a cash bar, 50-50 raffle, and cheer raffle basket. Besides the heavenly aroma filling the air you can also enjoy music by DJ Michael “Kaz” Rojek.

Nearly 300 BBQ lovers have come over the years to support the Police Foundation, whose mission is to support the community’s police officers. This includes offering educational scholarships to officers and their families, assisting officers during times of crisis, and supporting equipment and materials to the department when government funds are unavailable.
