Keep Collier Beautiful and the Marco Island Area Association of REALTORS® (MIAAOR) have partnered to host the 2026 Clean Up Florida Waters in Marco Island. This cleanup event will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Boaters, kayakers, and community volunteers are invited to start the cleanup from their regular dock or boat ramp, then rendezvous with the group at Keewaydin Island. Volunteers from MIAAOR will be stationed at Keewaydin to collect and record the debris that participants collect along the way. Captains will receive a special appreciation bag that includes half-price discount tickets to the Naples Boat Show. Drinks and lunch will also be available on the island. The event is free to participate, but pre-registration is requested at keepcollierbeautiful.com.
"This cleanup connects MIAAOR members, residents and neighbors who care deeply about protecting the safety of our wildlife as well as the quality of life that we all enjoy," said Kandy Sweeney, MIAAOR Chief Executive Officer. “This year, we’re excited to expand our work with Keep Collier Beautiful and engage more of the community in such a meaningful way to give back.”
Clean Up Florida Waters is an annual environmental initiative spearheaded by the Florida Association of Realtors®, wherein local REALTOR® associations across the state organize to remove trash from waterways. As one of its signature events, MIAAOR invites volunteers every year to clean Southwest Florida's pristine beaches, canals, and bays. Through a collaboration with Keep Collier Beautiful and support from Marine Industries Association of Collier County, Sunshine Ace Hardware Marco Island, Marco Island Water Sports, Carvelli Restaurant Group, WM (Waste Management), Rose Marina and Collier County, the event is expanding to bring more boaters and volunteers to the waterways.
Participants will meet on Friday, July 24 (9:00 AM), the day before the cleanup, at the MIAAOR Conference Center, located at 140 Waterway Drive, Marco Island, FL 34145, to assign locations, coordinate logistics, and distribute cleanup supplies. On cleanup day, volunteer boaters and kayakers will take to local waterways — working together to remove debris and safeguard these critical marine environments. Volunteers are encouraged to bring friends, family, and coworkers for a fun and meaningful project. Pre-registered students are also eligible for volunteer service hours.
