Back by Popular Demand: Creativity and Wellness Series

Posted

Marco Island Center for the Arts invites the community to explore creativity as a pathway to self-discovery and wellness with a Creativity and Wellness Series presented by Melissa Phillips, MSW, of Gulf Coast Integrative Counseling.

The series features two unique, stand-alone creative wellness experiences. Participants may attend one or both, with each workshop offering a different opportunity for reflection, artistic expression, and personal discovery.

The series begins with the return of Beyond the Mirror, on Monday, October 19, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. The first Beyond the Mirror experience at Marco Island Center for the Arts sold out, bringing the popular creative wellness workshop back for another opportunity to participate.

Through guided reflection and mixed-media art, participants will create a layered self-portrait exploring identity, strengths, values, and resilience. Each layer represents a different aspect of the self—from thoughts, memories, and imagination to personal values, the roles we carry and the person we are becoming. No artistic experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to create. Space is limited to 15 participants.

On Monday, October 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, participants can explore The Uncharted Path: Mapping Life Through Change. This immersive two-hour therapeutic art experience uses a real Naples map as the foundation for creating a meaningful visual record of transition, strength, self-discovery and possibility.

Participants will consider what they want to carry forward, what they may be ready to leave behind and the possibilities that lie ahead. The Uncharted Path is $60.

Both experiences are presented by Melissa C. Phillips, MSW, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern and founder of Gulf Coast Integrative Counseling.

Whether exploring the layers of personal identity or navigating a new direction in life, the Creativity & Wellness Series offers a welcoming space to pause, reflect and create.

Both workshops take place at Marco Island Center for the Arts, 1010 Winterberry Drive, Marco Island. For registration and additional information, visit marcoislandart.org or call 239-394-4221.
