Another Broken Egg Cafe

Restaurant Row has a new addition to its line-up: ‘Another Broken Egg Cafe! Bringing ‘uncompromising, southern-inspired culinary innovation and craveably delicious dishes’ to the table. Offering breakfast, brunch, and lunch with hand-crafted cocktails, coffees, mimosas, and a full bar, Another Broken Egg is not your average brunch spot!

For owner Dillon Gruener, bringing this cafe to Naples is not only a culmination of years in the industry, but also just the start for his own plans within the community.

To understand his passion for the cafe that moved him from Boston to Collier County, we travel back 15 years to Buffalo, New York. Gruener had his first job at a Five Guys when he was 16 and stayed with the company, moving up from a crew member and prep worker to district manager overseeing seven stores before he left Buffalo.

He began a corporate position with Five Guys in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, overseeing 60 locations throughout four states, serving as regional trainer support for the franchises. He did this for two years, until a promotion in New England presented itself.

“I was consulting the franchisees on how to be profitable, how to operate the restaurants, how to be food safe, how to open new stores, and how to train their staff,” said Gruener. During this time, he met his wife Taylor, and they have been together ever since.

He got to a point in his career where he realized he had the tools, the resources, and the knowledge to operate a business – why not do it on his own?

“I learned a lot and built a lot of good relationships over the years and had the opportunity to meet some really knowledgeable people that trained and helped me do the things that I've done, and it's been fun,” he said.

After much research, “I signed my franchise agreements with Another Broken Egg in May, 2025, and then shortly after I began figuring out where exactly we wanted to live.” His parents had previously owned a home in Pelican Bay, making him familiar with the area. Wanting a change from the northeast weather, both he and his wife had always wanted to live in Florida. So, when he saw the opportunity in this area, he leaped on it.

“My wife and I moved down from Boston last September. I signed my franchise agreements, locking in Lee and Collier County for development.” With his franchise agreement, he is to open three more cafes in the next five years.

For the first location, Gruener scouted across Collier County and in Ft. Myers, but they did not quite feel right. He saw the TD Bank building being built and inquired right away to his real estate broker. The space was originally intended for a different cafe, but that had fallen through and development was frozen.

“We were able to step in, and I signed my lease in January of this year.” Next came the planning, design, and permitting. “Being my first one, we learned a lot. We broke ground at the end of April.” Since the building was just concrete floors, he had the freedom and ability to design the cafe exactly how he wanted.

A warm greeting welcomes you at the hostess stand before you are led to a cozy table in a modern yet rustic open dining space. There is also a sprawling bar with picturesque cupboards filled with inviting decor and beverage options.

Assembling a full-service team to offer the best in service, Gruener has hired close to 35 total staff between servers, bartenders, hostess, bussers, cooks, and dishwashers. “It's a pretty big establishment, so there's a lot of pieces to the puzzle. We are looking for people that are willing to learn – but also have a great personality.”

Wanting to bring in the right fit, Gruener stresses ‘personality’. “I can train someone how to run the grill, but the personality must be there. You have got to be fun and willing to learn.” He emphasizes customer service and accommodation from his service team, expecting them to be involved with each of their tables.

As guests stop in to check out the hype, they are sure to find their new favorite foods! With breakfast indulgences like Apple Pie Pancakes and Cinnamon Roll French Toast, to healthy choices like the Skinny Omelet or the Shrimp Benny, the cafe offers breakfast, brunch, and lunch options to check the boxes on everyone’s palate. Gruener’s shared that the Filet Mignon Eggs Benedict has been a fan favorite so far!

With a comfortable price point, plenty of parking, and a convenient location adjacent to TD Bank at the end of Restaurant Row on Collier Blvd., the cafe is a sure success for the area.

They offer catering packages and are available for private events and parties after 2:00 PM.

Another Broken Egg Cafe is open seven days a week: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and is located at 6917 Collier Blvd., Suite 701, Naples, 239-228-6196.
