The YMCA of Collier County is pleased to announce a $5,000 grant from the Collier Community Foundation to expand its vital youth and teen programs. This funding will empower the Y to further its mission of developing diverse program offerings that engage pre-teens and teens through social, educational, and healthy activities.

The YMCA of Collier County has strategically focused on developing a diverse array of programs specifically designed to engage pre-teens and teens. These programs aim to provide a platform for social interaction, academic enrichment, and healthy lifestyles.

"This grant will have a profound impact on the lives of young people in our community," said Lorena Correale, Youth & Families Coordinator at the YMCA of Collier County. "These initiatives are designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for teens, fostering resilience, and encouraging a sense of responsibility. We are committed to empowering young people and ensuring they have the support and resources needed to thrive."

Beyond fostering social and educational growth, the YMCA of Collier County is committed to empowering young people by cultivating leadership skills, building self-confidence, and encouraging personal growth. This is achieved through programs such as Youth in Government, Counselors in Training, and active community service initiatives, all of which aim to cultivate the leaders of tomorrow.

The Collier Community Foundation awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process. Selected organizations receive grant dollars from the Foundation’s discretionary

funds. These funds were gifted by donors who believe in the Community Foundation’s ability to mobilize resources to address the community’s greatest needs.
