Julia Szwed of Women’s Care Center in Naples was a recent presenter as part of Marco’s Sunrise Rotary Club Wake Up Marco speaker series. This series is part of the Club’s breakfast meetings at which an expert presents on a timely or local matter of interest.
Szwed explained the services provided by Women’s Care Center. Surprisingly, those services include assistance to fathers and soon-to-be fathers as well as women.
Women’s Care Center provides education, counseling, life coaching, and assistance related to pregnancy and babies from conception through kindergarten. The Center provides 24-hour access for care and is particularly important during early pregnancy. It is often difficult to get an appointment with a woman’s doctor due to busy medical schedules. The Center provides free services, including free ultrasound, which can help spot early need for medical intervention before a woman can see her usual doctor.
All staff at the Center are professionally trained. The Center has been open about 18 months and during that time, it has not been unusual for a mother to stop by the Center on her way home after childbirth to share the news with the staff.
Marco Island Rotary Club Sunrise meets Tuesdays, 7:15 AM at Stonewalls Restaurant, 551 S. Collier Blvd., Marco Island, Florida.
