Posted

On Sunday, April 19, United Church of Marco Island (UCMI) and the Bargain Basket of Marco Island proudly presented a special Easter Offering gift of $51,908.45 to Warrior Homes of Collier, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending homelessness among veterans in Collier County.

In recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, UCMI selected Warrior Homes of Collier as the recipient of this year’s Easter mission offering, honoring those who have served our country by supporting veterans in need within the local community.

This impactful effort brought together church members, Bargain Basket supporters, and the greater Marco Island community in a shared mission of generosity and gratitude. The contribution represents the largest single donation Warrior Homes of Collier has received to date, underscoring the compassion and commitment of all who participated.

As part of the presentation, Dale Mullin and Barbara Salkow of Warrior Homes of Collier shared a heartfelt moment by presenting Pastor Ed Brandt with a key in recognition of his service as a veteran and his continued support of their mission. This symbolic gesture highlighted the deep connection between faith, service, and community care.

United Church of Marco Island and the Bargain Basket extend sincere thanks to everyone who contributed, volunteered, and supported this Easter offering. Their generosity will directly impact the lives of local veterans, helping provide stability, dignity, and hope for the future.
