In keeping with the spirit of the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States of America, Warrior Homes of Collier County will be the 2026 recipient of United Church of Marco Island’s (UCMI) Easter Offering. Warrior Homes of Collier County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating veteran homelessness through the development of permanent supportive housing and comprehensive services for veterans in need. Collection of funds will take place throughout March.
“A parishioner emailed the office suggesting that the Easter offering should go towards a Veterans Organization in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday,” commented Ed Brandt, Pastor. “So the Mission Committee took the lead in finding a local organization that supports Veterans and honors the 259th Birthday of our country,” he added.
Warrior Homes of Collier County works to provide safe, stable housing for homeless and at-risk veterans by creating a community of small, permanent homes paired with wraparound support services. The organization partners with local agencies, veteran service providers, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to help veterans achieve long-term stability and independence. Their mission is rooted in the belief that those who served our nation deserve dignity, security, and a place to call home.
“A couple members of the committee visited the projects underway, and we were so impressed with their work,” commented Pat Kaufman, Chair of the Mission Committee for United Church of Marco Island. “Warrior Homes is making a tangible difference in the lives of veterans by not only providing housing but also offering the support systems necessary for lasting transformation.”
The Easter Offering will be received throughout the month of March. During this time, the plan is to have a representative of Warrior Homes of Collier County visit the congregation and discuss its work, and share more information about the organization’s mission, progress, and vision for ending veteran homelessness in Collier County.
United Church of Marco Island has a long-standing commitment to investing in the community and supporting initiatives that promote compassion, stability, and hope. By selecting Warrior Homes as this year’s Easter Offering recipient, the congregation continues its mission of serving those who have faithfully served our country.
