United Church of Marco Supports MIA Students With Gift

The United Church of Marco Island (UCMI) continues its commitment to investing in the next generation through a recent gift to Marco Island Academy (MIA).

Pastor Ed Brandt and Missions Committee Chair Pat Kaufman presented a $7,600 check to Brandon Swope to help fund a special physics-focused field trip to Walt Disney World Resort on April 25.

The gift, made possible through the generosity of UCMI’s Mission Committee and proceeds from the church’s popular Bargain Basket ministry, will allow 40 Marco Island Academy students to participate in an immersive, hands-on learning experience where science and physics concepts come to life in engaging and memorable ways.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to support young people in their learning and growth,” said Pastor Brandt. “When we invest in education, we invest in the future. We are grateful to partner with Marco Island Academy to help make this experience possible for these students.”

The field trip is designed to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, offering students a unique opportunity to explore the principles of physics through interactive exhibits and attractions.

UCMI’s Mission Committee continues to support local initiatives that strengthen the Marco Island community, with a particular focus on education, outreach, and service.
