The United Church of Marco Island and its Bargain Basket Mission Committee, through Pastor Ed Brandt, has awarded a $20,000 grant to Grace Place in Golden Gate City, Florida.
The grant was presented to Melisa Mast of Grace Place, who, in turn, invited members of the United Church of Marco Island to visit the organization's campus.
Grace Place for Children and Families is a faith-based nonprofit that provides pathways out of poverty by educating children and families in the Golden Gate City community. Working to break the cycle of poverty, Grace Place serves more than 800 students through three educational programs: Bright Beginnings, Student Programs, and Adult Education. In addition to its educational mission, the organization operates a Friday Food Pantry that serves families each week and has become the largest permanent food distribution site in Collier County.
The Bargain Basket Mission Committee supports community organizations throughout the region as part of the church's ongoing commitment to local outreach and service.
