True Tulips: Shell Royalty

Posted

True tulips are one of the most beautiful and sought-after shells on Florida beaches. Looking forward to hearing Rebecca Mensch, MS, Visiting Professor from Dept. of Environmental Science and Study, Washington College, MD, share information about True Tulips (Fasciolaria tulipa) at the Marco Island Public Library.

The presentation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 3:00-4:30. The seminar is free to the public, and refreshments are served!

From 2017 to 2022, Rebecca raised a True Tulip at the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum from hatching until its unfortunate demise in Hurricane lan. Rebecca will share notes, observations, photographs, and videos of this extraordinary snail.

Mark this date on your calendar! See you there.
