Tigertail Beach Cleanup

Posted

Despite a threat of storms, on Saturday, July 5, a few hearty volunteers congregated at the Tigertail Beach kiosk for a quarterly beach cleanup sponsored by Friends of Tigertail. After the Independence Day festivities, 23 pounds of trash/recyclables, 26 pounds of construction materials, and a barnacle-laden tire were collected. Maria Christina Javier from the Department of Health came to promote smoke-free beaches and parks in Collier County, a cause supported by Friends of Tigertail. The next beach event is the annual International Coastal Clean-up scheduled for Saturday, September 20. More information about Friends of Tigertail can be found on their Facebook page or their web site: www.FriendsofTigertail.com.
