Tamiami Ford Joins Global Ford Dealers to Fight Hunger

Posted

Tamiami Ford is proud to announce that the family-owned and operated auto dealership is participating in the Ford Motor Company’s upcoming Fill a Ford food drive, part of a global initiative that is being billed as the “World’s Largest Auto Dealer Food Drive” to help provide nutritious food for neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Under this initiative, thousands of dealerships spanning 31 countries will be hosting food drives, collecting essential items to fight hunger and meet critical local needs. From September 1-25, the local community is encouraged to drop off food items at Tamiami Ford. All donations collected during this period will benefit the non-profit organization Our Daily Bread Food Pantry.

According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, roughly 645 million people – or 7.8 percent of the global population - faced hunger in 2025. In the United States, more than 50 million people turn to food banks, food pantries, and community meal programs for help each year. As part of this effort, Ford dealers are connecting with food pantries and nonprofits who are serving as the beneficiaries of these donations and advising on the most-needed items.

“This marks our second annual food drive benefiting Our Daily Bread Food Pantry. All donations will help provide nutritious food and school lunches for vulnerable adults and students throughout Collier County areas,” said Tim Zellers, President of Tamiami Ford. “Every can, box, and bag of food does make a difference. Our goal this year is to exceed 2,000 lbs. of non-perishable food items, up from 2025 when we received approximately 1,000 lbs. of food.”

Everyone is encouraged to participate, whether you are a Tamiami Ford customer, an employee, or simply someone who cares about helping others. Community members are invited to bring non-perishable food items to the dealership throughout the drive. Items will be collected at the dealership located at 1471 N. Airport-Pulling Rd., Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

The “Ford Building Together” initiative brings together the power of Ford, combining corporate philanthropy, employee volunteers and global dealer network to address community development, education, food security and disaster relief. Ford dealers join forces to host food drives to help strengthen food security and meet community needs.

“Ford Building Together” is designed to deepen the company's long-standing commitment to community, which includes over $2.4 billion in philanthropic giving and 1.8 million volunteer hours. The initiative partners with key national nonprofits, including the American Red Cross, Feeding America, Habitat for Humanity and Team Rubicon. With the added participation of the global dealer network and Ford employee volunteers worldwide, Ford Building Together is approaching corporate philanthropy differently to meet the ever-changing needs of today.
